Information System Specialist

Details: Devereux Massachusetts is seeking an experiened PT 20 hours per week Information Systems Specialist.Information Systems Specialist Job Summary: Performs troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and installation of software and hardware on desktop, laptop, networking and telecommunications systems including data, video and voice. This consists of first, second and third level technical support for the entire user community of the Devereux Foundation. Provides guidance and direction to the Information Systems Support position. Professional Skills 1. Systems Management: Demonstrates skills, knowledge and abilities needed to develop, implement, and manage hardware and software systems. Systems will be managed in such a manner that they attend to quality issues, efficiency, cost effectiveness, outcomes and corrective actions and incorporate Best Practices and innovative methods of systems management. Assists with the installation and maintenance of new and / or updated software.. Researches and recommends use of new products.2. User Support/Issue Solving: Assists PC users by helping to identify and resolve problems. Identifies solutions by researching previous HelpDesk tickets, Devereux FAQ's, internal resources and external internet sites and resources. Escalates issues when appropriate to the proper Devereux resources. Documents problem and resolution in the HelpDesk ticketing system clearly. Trains PC users in how to use various software packages and ensures PC users have adequate hardware capacity to perform their duties. Provides guidance and direction to the Information System Support position in correct troubleshooting and support. Provides second and some third level escalation for the Information Systems Support staff.3. Network Systems Knowledge: Provides technical assistance and guidance on network systems. Displays a thorough knowledge and understanding of network and technical systems used to meet Devereux's operational needs, including the ability to purposefully use and manage the systems. 4. Time and Task Management: Understands and demonstrates the ability to use time in an efficient and effective manner. Collaborates and communicates with co-workers to increase efficiency, and enhance the team's time management. Is aware of and consistently meets established deadlines. Identifies and prioritizes multiple tasks to assure timely completion of projects and assigned tasks. Communicates progress regarding completion of time lines/deadlines with co-workers, supervisors, and internal and external customers. Recommends and implements strategies to enhance time management skills.5. When necessary, coordinate and supervise thrid party technology contractors.
